Ultrasound plays a vital role in the WPC’s ability to help women choose life. We offer an ultrasound, free of charge, to each abortion minded or vulnerable client, enabling her to make an informed decision about the future of her pregnancy.
Our nurses are trained to give clients information on the viability of their pregnancy and the gestational age of their growing baby. Since up to 25% of all pregnancies end in miscarriage, information seen through ultrasound may help a woman avoid having an unnecessary abortion.
Ultrasound can also provide accurate information, to the day, as to the gestational age of a woman’s baby – information she needs in order to know what type of abortion she would likely undergo, as well as the risks and possible side effects associated with each procedure. Ultrasound is highly effective in helping women understand fetal development. Very often, this information alone is enough to help a woman reconsider her decision to abort. Through accurate information and compassionate counseling, our medical team and client advocates work together to help women make a choice that respects life.
