Volunteers are needed in the following areas:

Client Advocate

A client advocate counsels with women to the Center for pregnancy tests.  Client advocates assist and advise young women in unplanned pregnancies and offer support and encouragement.  The relationship between the client and the advocate can be a one-time encounter or a long term relationship depending on the client’s situation. 

Requirements:
Minimum of 18 years of age, Professing Christian, Adherence to standards in “A Call to Volunteer”, Attend a volunteer information meeting, and 8 hour training class.
Commitment:  Minimum one year for 4 hours a week


RDMS to perform Limited Obstetrical Ultrasound

RDMSs (ultrasound technologists) are needed to do obstetrical ultrasound in a pregnancy center environment.

Requirements: Minimum of 18 years of age, Professing Christian, Adherence to standards in “A Call to Volunteer”, Attend a volunteer information meeting, and 8 hour training class.
Commitment:  Minimum of one year for 4 hours a week


RNs to perform Limited Obstetrical Ultrasound

Registered nurses can train to do limited obstetrical ultrasounds within the pregnancy center environment.

Requirements:
Minimum of 18 years of age, Professing Christian, Adherence to standards in “A Call to Volunteer”, Attend a volunteer information meeting, 8 hour training class, and training in Limited Obstetrical Ultrasound provided by the Women’s Pregnancy Center in conjunction with licensed RDMSs and other medical professionals.  This training may require some out of town travel and several days of hands-on training.  Nurses will earn CEUs for ultrasound training.
Commitment:  Minimum one year for 8 hours a week after completion of ultrasound training.


RNs and LPNs

RNs and LPNs are needed to complete pregnancy tests and provide medical information in conjunction with tests results, including information on prenatal care and development, STI information and explanation of abortion procedures, risks and complications.

Requirements: Minimum of 18 years of age, Professing Christian, Adherence to standards in “A Call to Volunteer”, Attend a volunteer information meeting, and 8 hour training class.
Commitment:  Minimum one year for 4 hours a week


Receptionists

The receptionist greets clients at the front desk, answers phones, does basic clerical work, and phone counseling.
 
Requirements: Minimum of 18 years of age, Professing Christian, Adherence to standards in “A Call to Volunteer”, Attend a volunteer information meeting, and 8 hour training class.
Commitment:  Minimum one year for 4 hours a week


Parenting Class Mentors (men and women needed!)

Parenting Class Mentors encourage young moms and dads who attend the Helping Hands parenting classes at the WPC.  This is a perfect volunteer opportunity for those who have a heart for the family and want to encourage young parents to incorporate biblical principles in their homes.  Also a great way for married couples to serve in ministry together or for those who have experienced single parenting.

Requirements: Minimum of 18 years of age, Professing Christian, Adherence to standards in “A Call to Volunteer”, and Attend volunteer information meeting.
Commitment:  Minimum one year for 2 hours each Thursday evening


Church Liaison

Church liaisons work with their church to involve them in events, volunteering and fundraising activities at the Center. Liaisons also educate their churches on the programs the WPC has to offer that can assist their church in such areas as abstinence education, post abortion healing, and counseling and medical services for those in unplanned pregnancies.

Requirements: Minimum of 18 years of age, Professing Christian, Adherence to standards in “A Call to Volunteer”, Church membership and a desire to help your church become aware of the needs of the ministry of the Women’s Pregnancy Center and the needs of women in unintended pregnancies
Commitment:  Varies


Cleaning & Organization:

We need help with cleaning the Center and organizing our donated items (baby clothing and maternity clothing).
