Ultrasound Services
Ultrasound plays an important role in the WPC’s ability to help women choose life. We offer free ultrasounds to help them to make an informed decision about the future of their pregnancy choices.
Our nurses are trained to give our clients information on the viability of their pregnancy and the gestational age of their growing baby. Since up to one-third of all pregnancies end in miscarriage, information seen through ultrasound may help a woman avoid getting an unnecessary abortion. Ultrasound can also give accurate information, to the day, on how old a woman’s baby is, information she needs in order to make a decision about what type of abortion she will need. This information can affect the costs and possible complications of an abortion.
Ultrasound is also very effective in helping women understand fetal development. Very often, this information alone is enough to help a woman reconsider her decision to abort. Through accurate information and compassionate counseling, our medical team and client advocates work together to help women make a choice that respects life.

Option Ultrasound Program
In April, 2006, we became a part of the Option Ultrasound Program created and funded by Focus on the Family. Through a grant from Focus and under their personal supervision, we were able to receive a new ultrasound machine, acquire training for our staff and volunteers, and become compliant with the laws and regulations of the State of Florida in order to become a medical center.
Focus on the Family developed the Option Ultrasound Program because they found that approximately 85% of women who were vulnerable to abortion chose life after seeing their baby’s image on ultrasound.
Since we began offering ultrasound in 2006, we have performed an average of 52 ultrasounds a month. Amazingly, our statistics are in exact agreement with Focus on the Family’s. Eighty-five percent of women receiving ultrasounds at the Women’s Pregnancy Center have chosen life for their baby.
